YIEN Sisterhood

 The Sara Rivka Bausk Sisterhood is a vital and active group within our synagogue, forging strong bonds and lasting friendships among the women of our community. The organization sponsors many social and educational events and provides an important fundraising role, endowing many of our programs and assisting with our synagogue’s financial obligations and capital expenditures.

 The Sisterhood organizes and sponsors holiday events throughout the year such as our popular Chanukah Extravaganza and Family Sukkah party as well as programs featuring enlightening and entertaining speakers.We boast an active Chesed Committee, offer hospitality and seek opportunities to do Bikur Cholim. Over the past 20 years we have hosted a weekly Shalosh Seudas filled with learning, song and camaraderie for women on Shabbat.

 Our Purim Shalach Manot Campaign is our favorite fundraising event.  Beautiful gift baskets and/or cards are given to friends in the neighborhood and beyond. The Sisterhood sells gift cards to supermarkets in our area with a percentage of each purchase credited to our synagogue. These and other creative fundraising efforts help support the programs and events that bring our members together. 

Please join us for our annual sisterhood planning meeting which will take place on August 12, 2018 in the home of Rabbi and Rebbetzin Loewy where we will begin to plan for events for the upcoming year.
