About Us

In 1980, the Young Israel of East Northport opened its doors, under the Leadership of Rabbi Chaim Bausk. In the past 36 years, our membership has grown into a cohesive network of families and friends who all share the commonality of a Jewish belief system and of a commitment to a lifetime of embracing their rich spiritual heritage. Whether you attend the daily Minyan or are just beginning to explore your Jewish identity, the Young Israel of East Northport provides an inviting and invigorating environment. At a time when many synagogues are struggling to remain open, the Young Israel of East Northport is thriving as a center of Judaism for East Northport and the surrounding Suffolk community.

Rabbi Yehuda Chinskey is a passionate and energetic young Rabbi. His enthusiasm is only matched by his love for Torah and his desire to give it over to K’lal Yisrael. Long Island has always been his home, he grew up in Long Beach and went to the Local Yeshiva Day Schools. He studied and taught in multiple Yeshivot in Israel and America for a decade, including Yeshivat Lev Hatorah, Yeshivat Har Etzion and Yeshiva University. He holds a BeD (Bachelors in Education) from Michlelet Herzog and Smicha from Yeshiva University. Currently, Rabbi Chinskey is entering his fourth year of teaching in North Shore Hebrew Academy High School. He loves his job in the high school and looks forward to continuing there for the foreseeable future. In addition to teaching, he also has experience working for a Shul and was the assistant Rabbi in the Young Israel of Long Beach for a few years. Rabbi Chinskey and his wife Dina lived there for the first two years of their marriage and have just moved to East North Port with their adorable daughter Kayla from Far Rockaway.

Dina Chinskey was born and spent the first nine years of her life in Israel. When she was ten, her family moved to Monsey, NY, where she went to school until college. She graduated Brooklyn college with a BA in Psychology. Over the years, Dina has worked with multiple organizations and accumulated a wide range of experience working with teens at risk. She has always loved working with children of all ages. After marrying Rabbi Chinskey, she worked in the JCC of the five towns as an Assistant Teacher and later a full-time teacher. Currently Dina is a proud stay at home mother and considers herself lucky to spend her days raising her family.
